Flame of the Forest
Flame of the Forest, Kahna is one of the largest and most scenic national parks in India. It is ideal habitat for both tigers and their prey, with lush sal and bamboo forests, grassy meadows and ravines sheltreing rare species such as tiger, leopard, sloth bear, Barasingha and wild dog. Within Kanha, Flame of the Forest is a small luxury safari property, that offers excellent value for money.
Next to the Banjaar River, the Lodge offers views over the river to the forest beyond. We like that the property is small, only four cottages, and that one is designed for travelers with disabilities or mobility issues. The central guest area is airy and elegant, overlooking the river and offers sunset views. The bird life in the forest around the property is excellent and bush dinners illuminated with candles and lanterns will nourish your senses and your stomach! In addition to game drives in Kanha, Flame of the Forest offers walking, cycling and yoga.
Flame of the Forest is located near Kanha’s main gate which means it is not terribly isolated. At the same time, its setting on the Banjaar River is peaceful. In addition, park restrictions mean that other more expensive properties are also in this area, meaning Flame of the Forest offers comparable access at a lower price.
