Saffire Freycinet

Saffire Freycinet is the crown jewel of Tasmania. Half way up Tasmania’s east coast is Freycinet National Park, famous for its rugged coastline, the line of pink granite peaks called The Hazards, and the world famous Wineglass Bay. The stunning scenery of the region is the perfect setting for Saffire Freycinet, the most luxurious property in the state. Everything from the architecture to the cuisine harnesses the beauty of Tasmania. The local stone, timber, and other natural materials reflect those of the region and the giant glass windows and color schemes seamlessly blend this contemporary lodge with its environment. The food and wine is phenomenal and features Tasmania’s local ingredients.

The Luxury Suites, Signature Suites, and Private Pavilions each offer stunning views, clean lines, and modern charm. Each room type has an outdoor deck, comfortable bed, and lounge room. The Signature Suite is slightly larger than the Luxury Suite, and the Private Pavilion is even larger with a kitchen (where the chef can cook private meals), dining room, and internal courtyard. Each package is fully inclusive with activities, meals, and drinks and they each come with credit to their wellness spa.

There are a huge number of activities available to you, some to enjoy at your leisure and others with a guide. The Tasmanian Devil Experience is a necessity as it brings you face to face with this iconic animal as part of Freycinet’s initiative to curb the species’ extinction. Tour the Freycinet Winery, get an oyster tutorial at the Freycinet Marine Oyster Farm, go canoeing and bird watching in Pelican Bay, walk to the lookout to observe Wineglass Bay from above, or enjoy a number of other scenic and challenging walks within the park. You can also go fishing, kayaking, jogging, walking, biking, and kite-flying at your leisure. You can also enjoy some boating experiences, trips to nearby islands, or explore the more remote areas of the park on full or half-day tours at extra cost.

Saffire Freycinet is accessible by road, just over 2 hours from both Hobart and Launceston. If Saffire is going to be your first stop in Tasmania, there is a private Saffire lounge at the Hobart airport when you can relax and enjoy a shower and refreshments before your short scenic flight to Freycinet.
