Bay of Fires Lodge

The Bay of Fires Lodge is an exclusive lodge to those who embark on the Bay of Fires Lodge Walk, a 4 day/3 night program that takes you through a stunning section of Tasmania’s northeast coast. The Bay of Fires is a region of white sand beaches, blue waters, and orange hued granite rocks for which the bay was named after. The program includes scenic walks throughout the area, delicious locally sourced meals with Tasmanian wines, expert local guides, and beautiful accommodation. The first night is spent at Forester Beach Camp and the second two nights are spent at Bay of Fires Lodge.

Bay of Fires Lodge is the only building within over 7 square miles, surrounded by a national park and coastal wilderness. Sitting 130 feet above sea level, the views from the lodge are incredible. The lodge was constructed out of local materials, with minimal environmental impact, and is solar powered. Two long wood and glass pavilions embrace the environment with a modest, clean, and earthy feel. There is also a library and an outdoor spa. The lodge is simple, but the service, food, and comfort throughout this active program is amazing.

The program, and therefore overnights at Bay of Fires Lodge, is only available October through May, avoiding Tasmania’s winter. From November through February, you can expect warm days (dry with a strong sun) and cooler nights. Closer to their winter, you can expect cooler temperatures and a higher chance of rain. The program begins and ends in Launceston, the second largest city in Tasmania, located in Tasmania’s north-central region.
