Crazy about Cheetahs?

    Cheetah Conservation life from Namibia
    PAST EVENT: April 30, 2020 | 12pm EST

Join us to learn about the extraordinary work being done by Dr. Laurie Marker and her team at the Cheetah Conservation Fund and how you can support their efforts to help wild cheetah win the race against extinction.

Prior to founding the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) in 1990, Dr. Laurie Marker started her career as a veterinary assistant at Wildlife Safari in Oregon — and quickly became the clinic supervisor — where she worked with cheetahs for the first time. She traveled to South West Africa (now Namibia) in order to conduct research about the rewilding of captive-born cheetahs, but uncovered that while cheetahs could be taught how to hunt, they were being caught and killed in by livestock farmers. In an effort to save the species, Marker moved to Namibia in 1990 and founded CCF. Thirty years later, the organization has become a world-class research, education and conservation center set on a private wildlife reserve.
