National Geographic Husband/Wife Team, Dereck and Beverly Joubert, Talk Lions and Conservation Filmmaking

Conservationists, filmmakers, and National Geographic Explorers-in-Residence, Dereck and Beverly Joubert work primarily in rural Botswana for their own organization, Big Cats Initiative, founded in partnership with the National Geographic Society. The Jouberts and Big Cats Initiative are committed to protecting big cat populations — particularly lions — from shrinking. The husband-wife team love spending time in the bush doing research, but also spend time traveling around the world, visiting schools and museums where they can encourage students (and adults) to develop their geography skills, learn about big cats, and better understand how everyone can play a role in protecting our natural world.
