Go off-grid in the Okavango Delta and the Kalahari on this Wi-Fi-free luxury Botswana safari
Escape everyday life and reconnect with nature in two iconic locations on this off-grid luxury Botswana safari. The camps you’ll stay at intentionally don’t have Wi-Fi, allowing for a true escape from the everyday world.
Spot wildlife ranging from thumbnail-sized frogs to enormous hippos on a boating safari in the Okavango Delta. Enjoy game drives and guided walks that reveal Africa’s best-known wildlife: elephant, big cats, and wild dog. The Makgadikgadi Pan is a study in contrast, a seemingly desolate space that teems with life like meerkats, aardwolf, zebra, and lion. Plus, the most brilliant night sky you may ever encounter.

Across Botswana: Delta and Desert trip highlights
- This 10-day fly-in off-grid Botswana luxury safari begins with a bush flight from Maun to Machaba Camp. Shaded by riverine trees and looking upon the Khwai River, this property is styled as a classic, mid-century, under-canvas safari camp. It is situated within an 86,000-acre concession in the northeastern Okavango Delta that enjoys consistent year-round game viewing.
- From here, fly to Kiri Camp, which is set on a floodplain and located on a private concession in the Delta's southeast corner. An abundant array of herbivores support larger predators here: lion, leopard, spotted hyena, cheetah, and wild dog. In addition to game drives, and depending on water levels, you might enjoy boat or mokoro safaris.
- Fly next to San Camp, set in an oasis of palms on the edge of the Nwetwe Pan in Botswana’s Makgadikgadi. Year-round activities include interaction with habituated meerkats, a visit to one of the oldest and biggest trees in Africa, bird watching, and night drives. Enjoy a rare opportunity to spend hours walking with Zu'hosi Bushmen, opt for an afternoon horseback ride, or take to the skies on a scenic helicopter flight.
- During the dry season activities include quad biking across the Makgadikgadi Salt Pan, and game drives may include unique desert species such as springbok, gemsbok, red hartebeest, and brown hyena. The wet season bears witness to the spectacular zebra and wildebeest migration as well as a cornucopia of flamingos and other waterbirds.
