Venture off the beaten path with 9 nights in Zambia. Start in Livingstone where you’ll spend 3 nights at the luxurious riverfront Tongabezi Lodge. Spend your days sightseeing with a visit to Victoria Falls, perhaps exploring the town’s museums, nearby villages, or simply relaxing on a river cruise along the might Zambezi River.
Your next 3 nights take you into the Lower Zambezi National Park. What you lose in diversity of game, you make up for in your ability to get up close and personal as you wander in and out of the Zambezi channels. Enormous herds of elephant, some up to 100 strong, are often seen at the river’s edge, while buffalo and waterbuck are common, and big cats like lion and leopard are found here as well. Stay at Anabezi Camp where fishing, boating and canoeing, walking and traditional game drives are all at your disposal.
Finish off your safari with 3 nights at Tafika Camp, a seasonal camp of just six chalets. Walking safaris are the big draw here, but guests may also wish to venture out on mountain bikes to explore the wildlife and scenery. Visits to surrounding villages are a great way to learn about local culture, and day and night game drives are always a classic option. The South Luangwa is known for its intense concentration of animals around the Luangwa River and its oxbow lagoons.
