Wildlife Photographers Safari

Whether you’re an aspiring photographer or your phone is your only camera, Africa will reward your efforts. If you’d like to take your photography to the next level, our Wildlife Photographers Safari is for you. Guided by professional photographers, this isn’t just instruction - it is an immersive experience designed for people with photographic skills of all levels to become published wildlife photographers! The methodology used is cutting-edge and draws on the techniques and strategies used by National Geographic photographers. You will build your skills throughout the trip and will ultimately take home a fully edited portfolio ready for publishing.

Ol Donyo Lodge

You will arrive in Kenya and settle into the tranquil luxury of Hemingways Nairobi. With lush grounds, a wonderful spa and excellent dining, it’s the perfect spot to recover from a long journey. After a restful night, you will fly to Ol Donyo Lodge in the Chyulu Hills. The photo opportunities in this area are endless - abundant wildlife, verdant hills and the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro are all fantastic subjects. In addition to your daytime game drive explorations in specially modified vehicles designed for photographers, you can enjoy bushwalks, night drives, hiking, horse riding (for all levels, novice to professional), mountain biking, tracking, conservation and community outreach programs, wildlife viewing from an open-air hide and sleep outs in private star beds.

After capturing the majesty of the Chyulu Hills, you will fly to Olare Motorogi Conservancy in the Maasai Mara ecosystem. Your base for the next three nights is the stunning Mara Plains Camp, one of only five camps within the 100,000-acre Conservancy. This exclusivity affords a fantastic chance to capture the Maasai Mara’s famous endless plains and incredible wildlife with no crowds. Game drives here - again in specially designed vehicles - are excellent. Seasonally you might have the chance to photograph the wildebeest migration, and the resident wildlife is prolific. This is one of Africa’s best game viewing areas, and your photographic skill-building throughout the trip will reach its pinnacle here!
