9-Day Fly-In Safari in Kenya

This 9-Day Fly-In Safari in Kenya begins with two nights at House of Waine in Nairobi. Originally a private home set on 2.5 acres, House of Waine has become a serene boutique property in the quiet Karen suburb. It is the perfect base from which to explore the city, including the Giraffe Center and Karen Blixen Museum. During your stay, you will have the opportunity to visit the Sheldrick Orphanage and learn about their vital work in fostering and rehabilitating elephants and rhinos. Hear about the orphans’ stories and perhaps even see their evening feeding during your visit. (Fostering an elephant is required for this exclusive afternoon session... but it’s only $50 per couple!)

From Nairobi, fly north to Samburu National Reserve and Saruni Samburu for three nights. Saruni’s six luxury villas gaze across thousands of acres of pristine wilderness. Enjoy panoramic views from the camp’s dining and lounge areas, as well as the two infinity pools. During the day, embark on exciting game drives through an arid landscape of acacia scrub and grasslands, away from the tourist crowds. We especially love this region for the outstanding cultural interactions. Speak with local Samburu people, including your guide, to gain a deeper understanding of cultural traditions, daily life, and beliefs. Optional guided bush walks make an excellent supplement to your days.

Spend your final three nights at Saruni Mara, the only small, boutique lodge in the area. Set in the exclusive Mara North Conservancy, you get the “best of” without the bustle of the national reserve. Learn about the region, its culture, history, and wildlife from your Maasai guide, and make the most of the incredible wildlife – including the Big 5 – on day and night game drives, bush walks, and more.
