About This Accommodation

Robin Pope’s secluded Luangwa River Camp is a stunning introduction to theSouth Luangwa. The camp is only a 35-minute drive from Mfuwe Airport and a 5-minute boat ride away from the most game-rich area of the park. This small luxury camp gives the impression of remoteness despite its relatively close proximity to the busy South Luangwa Mfuwe area.

The five brick and thatch chalets are strikingly decorated and the main areas were crafted using timber and natural materials for an elegant but unpretentious classic safari feel that perfectly combines indoor and outdoor living.

Each game drive starts with a short boat trip across the river to the game vehicles where your drives will include animals such as lion, elephant, buffalo, wild dog, leopard, various antelope and birds. And after a day spent on game drives, you can relax in the swimming pool with its own waterfall or enjoy sundowners on the spacious, elevated deck with views of the river and park. Spa treatments are available for those seeking an additional touch of luxury. For these reasons, we like to use Luangwa River Camp for honeymooners.

This is definitely one of our favorite Robin Pope properties and it open from April through November.
