About This Accommodation

Bilimungwe is based in South Luangwa National Park on the banks of the Luangwa River and is open from mid-May through November.

Rustic and intimate, Bilimungwe accommodates up to eight guests in basic reed and thatch rooms situated around a watering hole. Although the rooms seem very private and protected, we sometimes feel that there’s a lack of privacy and we are concerned that people can hear you in your rooms. Each room has its own verandah, outdoor shower and open-plan bathroom, which can be a little intrusive or awkward if you are sharing with someone other than your significant other.

Bilimungwe’s main areas include a bar and a viewing deck overlooking the plains, home to the illusive leopard, and the busy waterhole - which attracts elephant, baboon, warthog, antelope and bird species. Day and night game drives give you the chance to view the terrific wildlife in this game-rich area.

Dinners are served in the boma as you sit around the fire pit, listening to the nocturnal sounds of the wild and unwinding after a day on safari. Massages are available for that added touch of relaxation.

The camp is renowned for its award-winning resident guide, Manda. We can arrange for him to be your private guide which we highly recommend for a superior safari experience.
