Chiawa Camp

With a reputation as a well-run and stylish property, Chiawa Camp in Zambia‘s Lower Zambezi has a great atmosphere, good activities, and excellent food. From the beautiful tents to the hand-picked staff, everything really comes together to make this a special place.

The nine raised rooms are either located in the Mahogany Forest or facing the Zambezi River. They are spacious with wooden floors and luxurious bathrooms with both baths and showers. For those who want even larger tents and more privacy we recommend staying in one of the three superior suites.

Chiawa offers game drives, bush walks, cruises, canoe safaris and tiger fishing. A swimming pool provides refuge from the blazing sun during summer months.

We recommend Chiawa for its comfortable atmosphere and its outstanding guides – especially Paul – and staff. The staff members have been there a long time and are probably some of the most serious environmentalists in the region. They obviously love Chiawa and you will leave feeling the same way.

Visitors transfer to the camp via land and water from the Royal and Jeki Airstrips, both of which are a 35-minute flight from Lusaka. Flights are available from Livingstone as well, via Lusaka.
