About This Accommodation

Singita’s Sabora Plains Tented Camp is situated in the Western Corridor of the Serengeti, in the Singita Grumeti Reserve. Although this is a year-round destination, the heavy rain season is April and May, and the migration passes through this region between May and June which makes for the best game-viewing. Given that, the Grumeti has excellent year-round game viewing, even after the migration has passed, which cannot be said for the rest of the Western Corridor.

Sabora’s design is influenced by a past era of exploration, with 9 canvas tents comfortably decorated with Persian rugs, dark wood and leather, and natural hues. Each tent has its own deck overlooking the spectacular Grumeti landscape and a bath with a view. It has quite a different feel and décor themes than other Singita properties, but it keeps to the high standards of quality service, elegance, and fantastic game viewing.

The lodge has a pool and open lounge and viewing deck. Its special touches, such as al fresco dining under lantern-lit trees and excellent guides on your game drives or horseback riding excursions, make this an amazing experience. This is one of our favorite Grumeti lodges.

What Our Clients Think

Amazing! I could have stayed forever."

Kids loved turn down service with the hot water bottles in bed. Our guide was very friendly, prompt, knowledgeable and interesting."

Amazing all around. Beautiful room although we did not sleep much (buffalo scratching at tent!), loved the décor & open plains. Loved BBQ night. The manager and butler were the BEST, loved the vehicle, out driver was passionate and knowledgable."

The trip was unbelievable! Extraordinary indeed. Every place was a step up from the last, and each one amazing. I literally was teary eyed leaving Sabora, the staff and setting were out of this world. We had thanksgiving dinner with the staff since we were the only guests that night!"
