About This Accommodation

Gibbs Farm is located in Northern Tanzania, in Karatu, just 30 minutes from the Manyara Airstrip. It is situated between Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater and provides stunning vistas over the Great Rift Valley and the Ngorongoro Forest.

18 cottages are immersed in a lush jungle landscape, each with private patios, fireplaces, outdoor showers and charming farm-style décor. A family cottage is available and we find this to be a very captivating environment for children. It has gorgeous views and a really thoughtful and homey feel, making it perfect for both honeymooners and families.

We love this charming property. Part of its appeal is that it is a working farm with livestock, a coffee plantation, fruit trees, a vegetable and herb garden, a bakery, and their own dairy farm. Gibb’s Farm is self-sustainable and involved in the local community. It is independently-owned and operated and provides a unique and authentic experience.

Activities include optional walks through the Ngorogoro Forest, a guided tour of the Elephant Caves, and bike excursions. There is also a nice pool and a spa that spa offers traditional Maasai healing treatments.
