The waters of Lake Victoria teem with hippo, crocodile and Nile perch.The island’s indigenous rainforest is home to plentiful birdlife, a herd of island elephants and even chimpanzees (chimp sightings are not a guarantee as they might be at Greystoke Mahale or in Kibale).
