About This Accommodation

Situated between Franschhoek and Paarl, in the heart of the Cape Winelands, Babylonstoren is a stunning estate hotel with striking Cape Dutch buildings, wide open spaces and gourmet dining. It is truly a masterpiece of idylic farm life. The oldest buildings date back to the 1600s with white-washed smooth facades and simple Dutch gables. The décor is simple, modern and stylish. The rooms are not over-the-top luxurious, but they're tasteful and very comfortable.

The working farm produces fruits, herbs and vegetables from its fields, and the property is surrounded by beautiful vegetable gardens and imposing mountains. The renowned restaurant utilizes its home-grown produce in its cuisine and horticulture tours are available for interested guests. This tranquil country paradise is an ideal place for children and families and at the same time a romantic option for couples.

The cottages enjoy garden and vineyard views, and small groups may make exclusive use of the Manor House.

Being in the middle of the winelands at Babylonstoren, you will need a vehicle to get around to other restaurants and attractions, or just to explore the area.

What Our Clients Think

"Place was big, beautiful and surpassed all was AMAZING"

"Gorgeous. It was a renovated farm house. Very modern and cute. The restaurant here, Babel, was one of our favourites in all of South Africa. Delicious and fresh. The staff here are so helpful and friendly."

We LOVED Babylonstoren and didn’t want to leave! There was so much to do we could have easily have spent a full week there. Babel was phenomenal for both breakfast and the dinners we had there. We also wine tasted onsite and the wines were our favorite in all of Africa. In fact we ordered a case!"
