The Limpopo Province is a region of immense natural beauty made up of diverse ecosystems from the open savannah of Welgevonden to the dramatic mountains of the Waterberg to sites of critical archaeological and palaeontological importance such as Mapungubwe.

Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, home to Makweti Safari Lodge, one of our favorite properties in Limpopo, offers excellent game-viewing on game drives and walking safaris. We also love the Ant’s Nest and Ant’s Hill Bush Homes in the Waterberg Mountains. This is small, family-owned properties owned and run by Ant and Tess Barber who infuse passion for the bush into their game drives, walking safaris, and horseback riding. This is excellent properties for families and horseback riders.

Limpopo is best to visit from April to June and then September and October. Properties within Limpopo can be easily combined with Madikwe and Kruger with easy access to by road or small plane from Johannesburg.
