About This Accommodation

&Beyond’s Phinda Forest Lodge is located in the KwaZulu-Natal Province, within the Phinda Reserve.

Phinda Forest Lodge is a gorgeous camp, uniquely designed with an Asian influence: glass-walled bungalows are nestled into the unique sand forest and lush woodlands. It is very different from the traditional safari camps; more cool and romantic, completely enclosed in the peaceful forest.

The views are limited, and if you are looking for the sunny stretches of open bush plains then rather choose Phinda Mountain Lodge, which is comparably priced.

We love the common areas and the whole camp feels intimate and unique. If possible, look at spending 2 nights at Forest and 2 at Mountain Lodge to get a more complete itinerary. Game viewing at any of the Phinda lodges is excellent and we appreciate the wide variety of experiences available in the concession's 7 unique ecological zones.

What Our Clients Think

"Great room...Very pleasant and comfortable. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were great. Very good staff overall."

"The outdoor dinners were very cool there. We had one dinner in the boma and another out in the bush. They had great fires, lanterns, etc. The food was delicious... The breakfast and dinners were good... we really loved our 2nd guide (Dave). He was young and hungry. Very friendly and funny. We did see more cats there — a half-dozen cheetah encounters, 4-5 good lion encounters, and a leopard as well. It was also special to see the black rhino."

"Phinda was amazing - not much more to say, but it was everything I wanted out of my trip - would've stayed there a few more days had I realized what a jewel it was."
