About This Accommodation

The Singita brand is synonymous with the ultimate luxury safari experience. Singita Sweni is situated in an exclusive 33,000-acre concession within the Northern Kruger at the border with Mozambique. This remote part of the internationally-renowned reserve, offers a particularly strong sense of wilderness and exclusivity. The landscape is beautiful and far more mountainous than the central regions of the Kruger.

Singita Sweni is the sister camp of the light and airy Lebombo, built on the banks of the Sweni River.

This cozy property is a work of art - modern décor merged with natural bush, making the most of the attractive riverine setting. Decks provide views over lush woodlands and a chance to watch for the animals drawn to the water to drink.

With only six rooms, Sweni is the smallest Singita property and this gives it a compelling sense of exclusivity and peace. Game drives are undertaken with experienced rangers, who ensure your sojourn into this pristine wilderness is a rewarding one. Gift shop, gym, spa and pool are available at the nearby Lebombo lodge.

Although the northern Kruger region does not have the sheer quantity of game the central reserves have, it is a special experience in its own right. The rugged landscape provides a completely different experience to that of the Sabi Sands, but the quality service and facilities match perfectly with what you expect of Singita.

  • Sweni Lodge was influenced by the structures of dens, warrens and lairs found in the area. Flanking the Sweni River, this tranquil sanctuary is elevated on stilts with decks of timber. Even when you're indoors, you'll have the sensation of being close to the river and trees.
  • The Singita School of Cooking is located at the staff village that serves the Singita Kruger National Park lodges. It was established to develop culinary skills amongst youth from the neighbouring communities. Each year, 8 - 10 students who meet the entrance criteria, including a real interest in cooking, are selected to participate in an 18-month long program which prepares them for a career as a professional chef.
