About This Accommodation

Situated near the Ngala Safari Lodge, Ngala Tented Camp is the intimate sister camp on this exclusive Ngala concession. Although the lodge is large, the Tented Camp feels far from crowded with the big open spaces. Ngala Tented Camp is beautiful: the 6 canvas tents are classic, stylish and comfortable and the location is very serene. Meals are served on the dry riverbed under the African sky, and the camp is lit by lanterns – it is luxurious and very romantic, ideal for a honeymoon.

The pool is a popular place during the heat of the day and the main lounge areas are thoughtfully decorated. The entrance to the camp is a bit awkward, but this is quickly overlooked when you're met with a smile and enter the beautiful camp. The management is hands-on and staff provides a very personal and friendly service. We love the intimacy of this property, and the canvas tents offer that close-to-nature option that is scarce in the Great Kruger Area.

What Our Clients Think

Loved how intimate it was."

Wouldn't really know it was tented. Extremely courteous staff."

Everyone extremely nice and helpful, our butler David was excellent"

...the entire experience was amazing, I couldn't believe how close you could get to the animals. At Ngala Tented Camp, they had an elephant that would come daily to drink from the pool."

Food delicious. Spoiled by the staff. I loved staying in the tents, and feeling like we were “on Safari”. Also, it was great being on Safari and not seeing any other vehicles. So fun seeing ALL the big Five!"

Ngala Tented Camp was SUPERB!!! From the food, setting, graciousness and efficiency of the staff to the fine selection of wines by the chef. Each day the safaris got better and better. I could have stayed there 2 weeks. Loved the many surprises for the guests including breakfast and dinner at sunset; the tasting room; The Gold restaurant with African influence; drumming with the natives; driving home from a long safari and having dinner in the riverbed laid out before us and the lecture on Mandela’s Road to Freedom."

This was such a lovely place. The room and outdoor shower was really nice. Dining facility were so good that we asked for one of the recipes... and got it!"
