Motswari Game Lodge

Motswari Game Lodge is a family-owned camp with the owner’s artwork displayed throughout the lodge, the traditional main areas, and bungalows. This charming lodge has a real personality and that of one with strong family roots and staff that have grown up around the lodge. As the lodge participates in Fair Trade Tourism, staff members are shareholders in Motswari, and guest relations are therefore an important part of the camp ethos.

Game drives are conducted in open vehicles with expert rangers as you search for the Big Five and the countless other animal species that call the Timbavati home. Motswari now offers walking safaris and mobile camping in their Giraffe’s Nest hide. This is for a maximum of 4 guests at a time and is a unique feature in the South African reserves and a great addition for those looking for a more active experience.

Although Motswari is rather large in size (15 rooms), the bungalows are carefully placed, so you feel as though it is a much smaller lodge. This is a good family option but children under 6 can’t make use of the mobile camping. For small groups and family units looking for exclusivity, Motswari’s Gieger’s Camp is available.
