Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge
Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge, in the Sabi Sands Reserve is a striking property built into a gentle hillside from polished concrete, straw and driftwood. The unusual architecture and polished floors give it a clean, almost cave-like appearance. At its worst, the walkways remind us of bunkers from WWII. At its best, it feels organic, uncluttered and original. Spacious, well-appointed rooms carry on the organic theme and each has its own verandah and pool.
This is the flagship property for the highly respected Sabi Sabi concession. It is a very large concession in a prime location, so wildlife viewing is excellent. We appreciate the good food, therapeutic spa, comfortable game drive vehicles for day and evening game drives, and excellent guides.
Do be aware that this is not a good choice for those looking for a classic safari lodge. It can feel a little cold. It is a completely different experience and not at all traditional.
