About This Accommodation
Nuarro is a luxury eco-lodge situated on the beautiful Baixo do Pinda Peninsula in Northern Mozambique. Nuarro takes pride in its status as an eco-lodge, boasting a field of solar panels that power the lodge, long drop toilets, and a close relationship with the neighboring community. Depending on your style, their commitment to the community and the environment can make this place a no-brainer. For others, amenities such as the long drop toilet might put you out of your comfort zone. We think it's a great eco-property with a very reasonable price tag.
Nuarro’s 12 chalets are large and widely spaced, situated along a private stretch of beach. You can be up to a ten-minute walk on the beach or sandy walkway from the main activities or the restaurant. This can be a blessing or a burden, so you'll have to request the appropriate chalet for your needs. Each chalet is large, and although they are a bit dark, the beds are incredibly comfortable and each has a verandah with a hammock; a big plus! The food is simple but fresh (lots of seafood!). The service is friendly and charming despite a bit of a language barrier. Both the management couple and the couple managing the PADI and activities center are lovely.
Nuarro abounds with activities; including introductory to advanced diving, snorkeling, kayaking through a mangrove forest, a community walk, and biking to a historic lighthouse. You can be as relaxed or as active as you want at Nuarro.
We recommend flying directly into Nuarro’s airstrip over a road transfer that will be a bumpy few hours. You'll want to maximize your beach time!
