About This Accommodation

Naibor Camp sits in the Masai Mara Game Reserve and is a beautiful camp, located on a scenic bend of the Talek River overlooking an area where a large hippo pod often congregates.

Contemporary tents with modern furnishings, bucket showers and solar lighting ensure guests are comfortable, and the heavily-forested area adds to the camp’s feeling of remoteness in the sometimes crowded Mara. The tents have large verandahs and day beds where you can choose to enjoy private dining in lieu of a more social night with the other guests in camp.

Naibor also runs sister camps Little Naibor and Naibor Wilderness which are smaller and offer for a more intimate experience.

Year-round game viewing is very good and the camp is well-placed to catch the wildebeest migration. Because of its prime location inside the park, game drives are the primary activity.

Being inside the national park means that you are limited in terms of night drives and walks – you cannot be in the park after dark and walking is prohibited. In addition, the main Mara can get very busy and because the camp is not in a private concession they have no control over the number of vehicles at a sighting. That being said, Naibor and Rekero camp across the river have exceptional guides that seem to find a way to avoid the crowds, even in the busy summer months.

What Our Clients Think

"Food quality and service was great. Wonderful staff. Our guide Jackson was excellent and so open and informative about the Maasai culture."

"10s all around - beautiful - great to have hippos below you."

Our tent was nice and quiet from the noise of people. All we could hear were the animals. Everything was delicious and the wine was great as well. They were able to accommodate everyone's food allergies and dislikes. Every single member of the staff was amazing. They made you feel like you were the only guest there. David, our guide, was particularly great. Extremely knowledgeable and had a knack for spotting animals from afar. Some of the animals he spotted I couldn't even see at first when using binoculars. He was also very respectful of the animals' space which was important to us."
