About This Accommodation

Elephant Pepper Camp is a tented camp in the game-rich Mara North Conservancy. The camp is unfenced and the presence of big game is noticeable: the game viewing is constant with a large number of animals nearby and a resident pride of lion.

This Gold Eco-Rated camp consists of lovely well-finished canvas tents decorated in the syle of the Indian Raj with gorgeous views over the plains and river. Larger tents cater to families and honeymooners. Although the camp used to feature bucket showers, a recent renovation has brought running water to both the sinks and showers making the camp an excellent combination of under canvas adventure and luxury.

While the camp and management are terrific, we have gotten some mixed feedback on the guiding at the camp in past (although better reviews more recently).

All in all, Elephant Pepper Camp is an excellent mid-range option and good value for money.

What Our Clients Think

Decorations were wonderful! Loved the feeling of the place. Food was the best of the trip. Really outstanding."

This place was amazing! Staff were wonderful and it felt like they were treated very well. Food was to die for! Cheese Souffle!! Mmm.."

Everyone, everywhere was friendly and courteous. Is that because they live without televison and the internet!!! When not on safari or eating, we spend time around a bonfire. It was great fun sharing our experiences each day with the other camp guests. Probably the best game viewing of the safari. The "Crossing" was truly biblical - we were fortunate to see about 8 crossing during the morning. I have never experienced anything like it!"

Elephant Pepper is a special place. We had a wonderful visit... Superb staff throughout, no exceptions. Storm is a great host and lots of fun. Nothing was too much for the staff...[and] James was a wonderful guide and we felt lucky to have him. [The game viewing] could not have been better. We got to see several kills and learned a lot about animal behavior due to James' special knowledge and patience."
