About This Accommodation
Robert’s Camp is built around experience more than creature comforts. It’s comfortable and has plenty of heart, but it’s basic in terms of amenities. The camp offers one cottage, two bandas and tented camping facilities as well as a bar and restaurant. The cottage sleeps up to six and comes equipped with kitchenette, while the thatch-roofed bandas are suitable for couples. Safari tents feature double beds, electricity and fans to keep cool.
Hippos, Crocodiles and hundreds of bird species frequent the area, and you’re likely to spot Verreaux’s Eagle Owls, Hammerkops, Storks, Hornbills, and Fish Eagles around the lake or Weavers, Starlings, and Sunbirds right from camp. Wildlife viewing, however, is not the main attraction.
We love Robert’s for the opportunities to boat on beautiful Lake Baringo and meet locals or isolated tribes like the Pokot. Cultural engagement is really where Robert’s Camp shines. Visit with local farmers, buy fresh catches straight from the fisherman while you boat through the areas lakes and waterways, or go walking to discover the little gems and friendly encounters that make this place special.
