Gomoti Plains

Gomoti Plains Camp, is part of the highly regarded Machaba collection. Situated in a private concession on the edge of the Gomoti river system, the camp is named after the eponymous trees that line the waterways, home to heron and stork. Similar in style to Machaba Camp, the property seamlessly merges modern luxury with a more traditional “safari” camp. Comprised of 10 luxury safari tents (all with ensuite bathrooms) on raised wooden platforms, the property is set above the surrounding area. Indoor and outdoor showers further enhance the full bush experience.

The camp offers an array of options for spotting game: keep the action up with traditional game drives to spot land-dwelling animals, or opt to slow things down with a laidback mokoro excursion to discover delta wildlife, or get up close and personal with the land’s macro and micro inhabitants on a bush walk. Gomoti Plains is located on a private concession, so you can also explore the bush after dark for a completely different game viewing experience. The camp is flexible – it’s up to you to determine your schedule with your guide every morning based on the best possible opportunities for spotting wildlife. And if you would rather spend the morning and afternoon relaxing at camp, then that’s no problem.

The area is known for its robust wildlife populations. Guests are likely to spy herds of elephant as well as big predators. Spend each day soaking in the beauty of the pristine landscape and variety of animal species. In the evenings, return to camp for sundowners and bush dinners under the African stars.
