About This Accommodation

Step back in time to a forgotten era with this stylish camp in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans.

Owned and run renowned guide Ralph Bousfield and his team, Jack’s Camp provides a range of fun activities, from quad biking across the pans, to an authentic cultural interaction with the San People (Bushmen), to visits with habituated meerkats. This desert experience includes a fascinating mesh of adeventure, game-viewing, history, archeology, and culture at an absolutely stunning property. Tastefully decorated yet packed with photos, momentos, insects in shadowboxes and even animal skulls, the camp tells the story of the Bousfield family's long history in Botswana.

The dry season (July to October) is fantastic for ATV’s and quad biking across the desert moonscape and the rainy season (December to March) brings new grass, lots of mud, and the migration. We recommend visiting during shoulder season (April to June and November to December) to possibly benefit from both.

To get a sense of the contrasting landscapes within Botswana we often recommend pairing camps in this desert area with time in the lush and water-filled Okavango and Linyanti regions.
