Value for Money Honeymoon to South Africa & Vic Falls

Explore Cape Town, Kruger and Victoria Falls. Staying on the Zimbabwe side of the Falls helps to lower the price of this trip and at certain times of the year the Zimbabwe side offers the best view of this natural wonder.

Days 1 /2 /3 / 4 ~ Cape Town ~ Four Rosmead

After landing in Cape Town you will be met by your Extraordinary Journey’s representative who will drive you to Four Rosmead and review your travel documents with you. Activities are additional and will be added based on your interests.

Nestled between Table Mountain and Table Bay, Cape Town is a sophisticated city with lots to see and do. Your hotel is just a sort ride away from the bustling Victoria and Alfred Waterfront area where buildings of Cape Dutch and Victorian-era architecture have been restored as shops, restaurants, museums and pubs.

Four Rosmead is an exclusive guesthouse situated on the slopes of Table Mountain in the select residential suburb of Oranjezicht. The guesthouse enjoys 360 degree views of the mountain, Lions Head, Signal Hill, Table Bay and the city. It is within walking distance of the city as well as vibrant Kloof Street, which is well known for its restaurant and café culture.  Built in 1903, Four Rosmead is a national monument that has been sensitively and stylishly re-modeled.

Activities such as a trip up Table Mountain by cable car, a tour of Robben Island (where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned) or the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, a bike tour of Cape Town or a day trip to the Winelands or the Cape Peninsula can all be added based on your interests (at additional cost).

Days 5 /6 /7 ~ Kruger National Park ~ Motswari Game Lodge

Today you will be taken back to the Cape Town airport for your flight to Hoesdspruit.  Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to Motswari to start the safari portion of your trip.

Motswari Private Game Reserve is a privately owned game lodge situated deep in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve, on the banks of the perennial Sohebele River.  Since the game fences came down between Kruger National Park and the Timbavati Reserve twenty years ago, huge breeding herds of buffalo of up to 1000, as well as large herds of elephants frequent the reserve. The resident game population includes 360 species of birds and more than 40 mammal species including lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhinoceros.  The area is also home to the famous White Lions of Timbavati.

Motswari Game Lodge is an exclusive family-owned lodge in  operation since 1980 and known for its strong conservation and community values, hence the Tswana name Motwari, meaning 'to conserve and protect. The bar area flows out to the deck and to the natural rock-lined pool with views of the nearby river bed and plains. The fifteen thatched bungalows are constructed in the rondavel style, with double doors opening to patios revealing scenic views of the African bush and the river.

Days  8 /9  ~ Ilala Lodge ~ Victoria Falls

Today you will fly to Zimbabwe. Upon your arrival you will be welcomed by a representative at the airport who will transfer you to Ilala Lodge.

Twice the size of Niagara Falls, it’s no surprise that Victoria Falls are among the Seven Wonders of the World. Mosi-oa-Tunya – The Smoke that Thunders – derived from the towering column of spray when the Zambezi River runs high, is the name that the local people have given to this awesome natural phenomenon. The name is probably more appropriate and descriptive than "Victoria", but Dr. David Livingstone followed established custom in 1855 when he named the falls after his queen. Five separate falls make up this incredible spectacle that plunges more than 328 feet into a sheer-sided chasm, which separates Zimbabwe from Zambia. A 1905 Edwardian bridge spans the awe-inspiring abyss, linking the two countries and providing a platform that many adventurers now use to bungee jump.

Ilala Lodge is situated in the center of Victoria Falls town and is actually the closet hotel to the Falls. The Palm a la Carte Restaurant has a cozy indoor section under thatch, with deep cottage pain windows and wide double doors opening out to the patio, for shaded el fresco dining. This outdoor area extends along the rounded front of the building, to a social pool bar and lounge, with the inviting pool discretely set to the side.

The activities desk can assist you with travel arrangements, transfers and any additional activities, and the hotel is within easy walking distance of the town and the Falls. The National Park borders the front of the property, so you may well see wild animals grazing on the hotel lawns with the spray of the falls in the background.

Day 10 ~ Depart ~ Johannesburg

Today you will return to the airport in time for your flight to Johannesburg. From here you will bid farewell to Africa as you connect with your flight home.

The price for this adventure starts at $4500 per person sharing (excluding international airfare)
