Thank you for helping us make this the most exciting year yet for Extraordinary Journeys. Your ideas, your feedback, your enthusiasm have been our inspriration and motivation.
Here are the highlights!
This year we welcomed 4 new staff members to the team! (From the left to right) Jenny joined the Sales Team from Colorado. Sumendri is based in Durban, South Africa and checks in with all of our clients while they are traveling to make sure they’re as happy as can be. Rachel joined Lauren in Operations, and Pearl joined Sarah doing Communications and Social Media.
We were sad to lose Whitney to Hawaii, but we can’t blame her!
The most exciting addition to our family has been Willliam Raaff Murray who came to the world in August. He is our CFO, Cynthia’s, first baby and he is precious! We could not be happier for the Murrays and baby EJ (we’re hoping the name catches on), and we are very grateful to have Cynthia’s sister, Catherine, join us while Cynthia is on leave. Meet the whole team here!
Three of Extraordinary Journeys’ leading ladies tied the knot this year! Congratulations to Sarah and Joe, Elizabeth and David, and Jamie and Mike!
This has been a really busy and fun year for us! We’ve been all over Africa and beyond!
Jamie and Pearl both went to Kenya and absolutely loved it. We’re adding two more people in the office who are serious Kenya-philes!
Lara and her family went to Tanzania and got the inside scoop on the best family-friendly properties and activities in the Serengeti, Ruaha, the Selous, and Zanzibar. They saw it all! Lauren also went to Tanzania on her first trip to Africa and then explored Istanbul for us on a long layover.
Safari Experiences Around the World
But probably our BIGGEST news this year is that we are expanding beyond Africa to provide our clients with Safari Experiences Around the World. If you loved your Africa experience with us, let us help you plan a trip to another off-the-beaten path destination. Our safari specialists have been traveling the world their whole lives and have written about these trips on our blog. You can find them here.
As part of this new initiative, this fall Jamie explored Nepal and Hong Kong and both Jamie and Marcia made their second trips to India to get some great new ideas that we can't wait to share with you!
Support to Non-Profits
One of our happiest moments this year was when we tallied the numbers and realized that in 2014 Extraordinary Journeys directly donated or help raise more than $50,000 for non-profits working in Africa! These amazing organizations represent almost all the countries where we operate and work on everything from education, to conservation and anti-poaching and we are thrilled to support them anyway we can.
