Ginny’s Kenya Safari

Ginny’s Kenya Safari, Here is a great testimonial from Ginny, an Africa enthusiast with 4 trips to the Continent under her belt! She traveled to Kenya with her friend Mary Jo with Extraordinary Journeys in September of 2011 and wrote to us about a few of their amazing experiences on the trip:

“To say that Mary Jo and I were “wowed” by our Safari is an understatement but I really don’t know what else to say…I am at a loss for words to describe the wonderment of Africa and her people.

Ginny’s Kenya Safari, From the moment we deplaned until we departed everything was perfection. It was as if everything and everyone were programmed. Mathew was there to greet us with a big welcoming smile and Peter, our guide/driver was so kind, gentle, warm and generous taking care of us and every little detail.

When we drove onto the Samburu Reserve the animals all came out to welcome us…we hadn’t been there more than 15 minutes whenGinny's Kenya Safari an impala ran in front of our Land Rover with a cheetah close behind ….we drove probably another 20 to 25 minutes and a lion was laying by the roadside …another short drive and a leopard was lounging under the trees! Talk about the WOW factor! Mary Jo couldn’t find the words to describe her delight! Our first day at Elephant Bedroom Camp ended with a sundowner gathering by the river with other guests. Spectacular!!! Awesome!! Fabulous!!

It just got better as we went along. Your ability to see to every little detail was so appreciated and I know when Mary Jo returns with her daughter and grandchildren in a couple of years, you will be her Safari Operator!

I have wanted to do a Hot Air Balloon ride for years (it’s been on my bucket list). I thought I would do it for my 75th Birthday but I just had to do it at 74 in Africa. If only everyone in the world could have such a treat. Our Captain was a delightful young lady from Australia that made the ride even more fun.

Ginny's Kenya Safari, Game DrivePeter arranged for us to have lunch our last day at Maasai Mara in the bush. We took along the bottle of wine you had sent us at the hotel in Nairobi and we toasted you while sitting under the tree enjoying our lunch.

Bottom line, people made this trip what it was. Africa is one of the most exciting and inspiring experiences of my life. Somewhere I read—“you can leave Africa, but it does not leave you”. Whoever said it was right on! Thanks again …how blessed I have been to visit Africa four times now …I’m hoping to return again In the future and make it trip number five!”
