2015 in a Nutshell

2015 came and went all too fast, but we’re happy to say the year was completely saturated with great memories. Aside from our travels (and just wait, we’ll get to those), we’ve brought Kim Green and Laura Cicalese on board the EJ team. We are so happy to have them and the transition has been seamless.

As you can see, we’ve launched a new website! Our goal is to make it easy for you to see amazing places to go and things to do. This is part of our process to create a journey as unique as you, that goes way beyond your original expectations. We also want to showcase extraordinary safari-inspired travel around the world and not solely Africa. The website is a work in progress so we do hope that you will come back from time to time to inspire your travel dreams. We hope you like it!

Lastly, our commitment to supporting the communities and wildlife in the regions in which we travel has remained strong. This year we’ve made $16,500 in direct donations to projects in Africa and helped raise over $93,000 through donated safaris and fundraising for partner organizations. We are quite proud of ourselves and want to thank all of you who contributed to these great organizations and projects.

Now, for the fun stuff. Here is our photo journey through 2015.

Elizabeth kicked off her travels in Ecuador (read her blog here) where she visited Quito, the Galapagos Islands, the Amazon Rainforest, and the Andean cloud forest.

And she finished her year with a trip to Morocco. Not too shabby!

Marcia spent six weeks covering Australia's highlights. The Land Down Under sure made an impression on us.

Jamie went to Cape Town, the Winelands, and Syechelles this year, but her real wilderness adventure occurred in Botswana.

Lara, our family safari expert, also had an eventful year! She went to Kenya, Botswana, South Africa, Zambia and bonefishing in the Seychelles.

Dania ventured into Kenya's bush where she befriended local villagers, Samburu guides, and a baby eland.

Jenny spent three days walking through Kenya's Loita Hills with her Maasai warrior guides followed by a killer safari and great game-viewing.

Kim took a year off from traveling because she was busy becoming a mother to beautiful baby girl Honora Evelyn Green. We love them both.

Lauren cruised her way through Botswana this year. (And, oh yeah, she now lives in Cape Town!)

Rachel went to Kenya in search of that real bush/beach experience, and she found it!

Laura visited all of the most saught-after safari regions in Botswana and loved every moment.

Sarah visited Matthew's Range, an off-the-beaten-track region in northern Kenya (read her blog here) before going gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park (read her blog here) - a true trailblazer!

Pearl went to Zimbabwe where she rode on a train, walked with elephants, and bungee jumped off a bridge (read her blog here).

We also sponsored the Saving the Elephants Run, a 10K in Central Park. The EJ team directly raised over $5,500 for the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Thanks to those of you who donated and who came out to run! It was a great day.

It's been quite the year and we are so grateful for your support. Farewell 2015! We can't wait to see what 2016 has in store.

Well wishes,
