Kayaking Safari

There is no experience required for a peaceful afternoon on the water in your kayak. A kayaking safari is available at many properties with water, but a major exception being the Okavango Delta where they canoe and do mokoro rides instead. Some great experiences include kayaking among the mangrove trees in Mozambique’s Quirimbas Archipelago, among the seals off the coast of the South Africa’s Cape Peninsula from Cape Town, and in the hidden paradise of Kiwayu off the northern coast of Kenya. An alternative way to get from Mboko to Lango camp in the Republic of the Congo is by kayak! At Sangha Lodge in the Central African Republic, head out on a sunset kayak adventure exploring the Sangha River. For the ultimate hidden paradise, visit habituated chimps and then view the 250 species of colorful cichlid fish as you glide over the smooth crystal clear waters of Lake Tanganyika in Tanzania from Greystoke Mahale.

In Ecuador, enjoy a kayaking safari through the waters of the Galapagos, where you may be so lucky to spot a sea turtle or dolphin along the way. Head to Mexico for an unforgettable kayak while staying at the barefoot favorite Camp Cecil. Get those muscles warmed up on an icy kayak adventure in Antarctica. Warmer kayak options abound while staying at the nature-focused boutique hotels in Mauritius. Kayaking in Mt Field National Park, Tasmania in search of platypus or along the Mossman River from Silky Oaks Lodge are amazing wilderness experiences.

Kayaking along the icebergs in Patagonia is truly a unique experience and one that we recommend while visiting Perito Moreno Glacier. You can also kayak from several of the lodges in the lake district of Northern Patagonia
